NoTube’s CEO Samuel Scheer and the medical team represented by Marguerite Dunitz-Scheer and Ronny Scheer hosted the first Notube Conference on October 28th at the Hayarkon Centre in Tel Aviv. SLT Nophar Ben David opened the conference and introduced Prof. Miri Keren, president elect of the WAIMH who gave an excellent introduction to the theme. The topic presented centred on early eating behaviour disorders and tube dependency in particular. 62 professionals from all over the country, including some families with tube dependent infants, gathered to discuss a wide range of important medical, nutritional and developmental issues addressed. During the week after the conference, the team’s visits in the following famous hospitals additionally highlighted the great interest on the shared topic:
- 30.10.: Wolfson Medical Centre (Prof. Y. Roth, Dr, A. Levine, Dr. A. Mizrachi),
- 31.10.: Rambam Medical Centre Haifa (Prof. Schaul),
- 2.11.: Hadassah Hospital Jerusalem (Prof. I. Wexler, Dr. Ariel Tennenbaum),
- 3.11.: Alyn Rehabilitation Centre, Jerusalem (organized by SLP Judy Blinder),
- 6.11.: Soroka Hospital, Beer Sheva, (Dr. G. Meiri, Prof. Weizmann, Dr. Veder Pinsk).
The further plan is to offer training courses, deepen the clinical and research oriented bonds between the Medical University of Graz and the Israeli centres with the goal of working on international guidelines for prevention and treatment of tube dependency in early childhood.
